The World Must Rise Now: US-Israeli Assault on Iran Expands A Dangerous War

The Global Sumud Flotilla condemns in the strongest possible terms the coordinated military strikes launched by the United States and Israeli regimes against Iran, and we urgently call on people around the world to mobilize to stop the escalation and demand meaningful accountability for the violations that enabled it. 

Gaza and Iran are not separate crises. They are linked expressions of a longstanding US- Israeli doctrine of domination that reshapes regions through force, targeting and isolating any state or movement that challenges its expansionist agenda. 

These attacks are the predictable consequence of over two years of escalating genocide and 19 years of siege in Gaza, perpetrated with full US backing and support, met with near-total silence or complicity. This is what happens when a so-called ceasefire is violated hundreds of times without consequence. This is what happens when a state invades another country, bombs its cities, kidnaps its leaders, and the world's institutions respond with declarations and delay. 

This is what happens when governments impose unilateral sanctions at will, illegally detain members of peaceful social movements attempting to deliver aid to survivors of genocide, and starve civilian populations, while powerful states look away or actively enable it. 

When power faces no consequences, escalation follows. 

As governments and institutions continue to fail to live up to their moral and legal obligations, only a global uprising can stop zionism and imperialism from destroying our collective future.

Let us be clear about what international law actually says: The prohibition on the use of force under the UN Charter is not optional. Preventative war is not a recognized legal doctrine. No state holds the authority to impose political outcomes through bombardment or coercion. 

We affirm unequivocally: the Iranian people, like all peoples, have the right to determine their future free from external military aggression or imposed regime change. 

We call on governments and institutions to act immediately to stop this immoral aggression. But people cannot wait for permission. The responsibility to act belongs to all of us. 

From Gaza to Tehran, from Havana to Caracas, from every corner of the world where people refuse to accept this imposed order, we stand together.

The Global Sumud Flotilla is a coordinated, nonviolent fleet of vessels sailing from ports across the Mediterranean to break Israel's illegal siege of Gaza and deliver a message of solidarity to its people. Rooted in the spirit of sumud (the Arabic word for steadfast resilience), this initiative unites participants from over 100 countries in a powerful movement of human rights defenders, peace activists, doctors, teachers, students, and community leaders who refuse to remain silent in the face of injustice and genocide.

We are not politicians. We are not governments. We are ordinary people who believe that human dignity must never be compromised and that nonviolent action is among the strongest forces for change. Our flotilla represents a worldwide coalition building on historic efforts such as the Freedom Flotilla Coalition and the Global Movement to Gaza.
