The Finnish delegation for Global Sumud Flotilla is comprised of everyday civilians, and we all come from varying walks of life. Teachers, lawyers, students, creatives, organisers— while our lived experiences may differ drastically from person to person, we are all united by one singular, humane truth: the siege and the ongoing genocide must end.

Last June, a globally coordinated campaign was launched by land, sea, and air. But this summer, we return with 70+ boats, over 1,000 participants from all over the globe, and highly-trained specialists that are ready to assist Palestinians through the early stages of Gaza’s reconstruction. Alongside this, GSF also aims to deliver life saving aid, and our efforts are rooted in non-violence, international solidarity, and Palestinian leadership. Complicity resides within the governments and institutions that have all failed to act with haste. Our loyalties remain with justice, freedom, and the sanctity of human life. When leaders stay silent, we must step in to fight for accountability and justice. 

We are challenging Israel’s illegal blockade on Gaza, as the consequences of inaction are incredibly high. It is time to oppose all forms of colonial violence, so join us as we set sail, and amplify Palestinian voices.
